Staffed by Board Certified Veterinary Radiologists, Veterinary Radiological Specialists of the Rockies is the only private  practice in Colorado that is devoted exclusively to curing hyperthyroid cats.
Since it's inception in 1999, VRSR has successfully cured hyperthyroidism in over 1500 cats. 96% of cats will be cured with one dose of I-131.

Leila Worth, Ph.D., VMD, Diplomate, ACVR
After obtaining a double degree in Mathematical Sciences and Psychology from Williams College, Dr. Leila Worth earned her Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her VMD at the University of Pennsylvania. She interned at New Bolton Center and completed her radiology residency at the University of Pennsylvania.

Donna Fleischer, Practice Manager
Donna has been involved with veterinary medicine for many years. She received her degree in Animal Health Technology from Colorado Mountain College and has worked in variety of different veterinary specialties.  Donna has been working with Dr. Worth since 1999.

Our Facilities
Through our experience, we’ve meticulously designed our current facility to offer leading edge technology and exceptional comfort for the benefit our patients. During treatment your cat will have spacious accommodations with two separate sleeping areas. Fresh air is supplied continuously through individual vents and natural lighting is provided. In addition, comforting music and several birds are housed in the room for your cat’s entertainment.  This quiet, non-stressful environment assures that even the most timid of cats will be comfortable during his/her stay with us.

Since I-131 is a radioactive substance, safety requirements dictate that treated cats be housed in a state-licensed facility and that their radioactive waste be properly handled.  You will have the opportunity to view the area where your cat will be staying at the time of admission.  Daily phone updates will be provided, and visiting your cat can also be arranged.
